To get a good PH reading, yes.

CYA can be addressed now, but there's no need in the dead of the winter for more UV protection.

Keep testing the Chlorine daily though?

Yes. But if you notice it's only dropping 1 ppm every other day (etc), then feel free to skip a reasonable amount of tests in between.

If you get impatient and want to lower the FC, 1 quart of regular 3% hydrogen peroxide will lower the FC by about 1 ppm.

Also, make sure that the cell is Turned Off.

Prove the flakes are/aren't calcium.

Lowering the TA will need keeping tabs on the PH, which will have to wait for the FC, but it'll give you something to do. .

It was the slab where the pool equipment is installed not my pool deck.

I will test everything again. I only did the CYA today because I was unable to do it two days ago however, with my FC so high and unable to read pH I don’t know how I can get to the CSI. Let me run test again and I’ll post them here.

So the TA = 110, CH = 375, the FC is still 15 or higher so can't get a pH and the CYA I did this morning was closer to 40 than 30.

With the TA at 110, I think that you are safe to assume that the pH is probably about 7.8 and you can add some acid.

If I assume pH of 7.8 the CSI is .12

Okay well being new I guess waiting is better since I can’t see where the pH is with the FC so high. Just want to make sure everything else checks out.
