Strange Salt Cell Issue

Thank you James, I appreciate the info!
Curious to know if you ended up with a new TCELL and of it is working for you. I have a similar problem on my second TCELL now but my readings are way different. I have 3000ppm readings on my test and my TCELL is showing 1200.

This is the basic information we need to know in diagnosing a problem:
  • Report all diagnostic readings when you..
    • Move the switch from auto to off and check all of the readings.
    • Move the switch back to auto and recheck the readings.
    • Move the switch to off for a minute and then back to auto and recheck the readings.
  • What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
  • What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?
Post pics of your control box and TCELL.

I do not have these settings on a OmniLogic system.

You have a diagnostic screen on your OmniLogic with the same information. And there is a diagnostic page on the app.

Go to chlorinator, go to diagnostics.
  • Report all readings when you..
    • Go to the diagnostic screen, note the readings and then press the + button to reverse the polarity.
    • When the new numbers appear, see what they are.
    • Then, press + again and note the new readings.

  • What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?

Show us what it tells you.

I am not sure what you mean by box but the cell serial starts with - 3E23297

OKay Herę is the drag screen:

Just to note this is the second salt cell in just 7 months they just replaced my original T340 about a month ago for the same issue. My theory is something else is wrong unless I have two duds. I just tested the salt twice at two different pool shops because my TFKit will not arrive until this weekend. All my readings are good from the shops. The first salt test was a meter test done at 2500ppm since then I have put in two bags of salt and now reading 3000 yesterday. Again not confident in this until my TFPro kit comes but the pool has enough salt I am almost positive of that.

Just a FYI I have another post I started about this last week. I am not sure why my reply to someone else asking him if he ever had his issue resolved opened a new thread for me. I dont want to cause too much duplication. Just trying to get more feedback from other users on what there issues may have been since my contractor seems clueless.

Show us a pic of your cell. I think you have one of the new modeL Hayward cells.

This document says Configuration is necessary with the Omnilogic.

Try going into CONFIGURATION and changing the cell type to T-15.

I did as you suggested and changed it to the T-15 but there was no change in the reading. It is a newer salt cell and it states to only select the T-15 if your model doesn't show and mine does show. IMG_2768.jpeg

It was worth a try.

I think Hayward has issues with those new type cells. You need to turn it over to Hayward to resolve.

What flow rate are you running? If the blades are not fully wetted the salt calculations will not be correct.
What do you mean by flow rate and how to I find out? My pool has a flow sensor right in front of the salt cell and it’s gone bad before and the salt cell and the pool shut down after 15 minutes if it’s in adequate flow.

I bought my setup 4 years ago, prior to the TFPro Salt. I bought the TF-100 and the stirrer. I looked for every excuse I could to buy a TFPro Salt when they released it, but ultimately couldn't do it because I already had all the stuff, just not the fancy case. I would 100% buy the TFPro Salt tomorrow, if all my stuff were stolen today. And I'd fight someone if they tried to take my stirrer.

Hi guys so I just received my TFPro kit. Is there somewhere specific for me to go and find out what to do?
