I haven't seen many different pools but when I was draining mine I noticed a lot of different patterns and irregularities on the pool finish. Between this and the calcium build up, I am wondering how to address this or is this normal? 20230508_150800.jpg

Old plaster looks pretty ratty when exposed. I would just refill the pool with water and not worry about it.

It might be just in the plaster or maybe in the gunite/shotcrete.

How old is the plaster?

When the plaster is replaced, you should have all of it removed and then you can examine the gunite to see if the gunite is damaged or if it is good.

If the gunite/shotcrete has the same pattern, it might be ASR.

Honestly, I have no idea. I moved into the home and it had a pool already. I have little to no details on the construction methods and age.
