Hey there. We are new pool owners and started using our new pool in the last couple of months. We used a reputable pool builder who built 2 stone scuppers on our feature wall. The wall is made of leuders, and the scuppers are made of mortar and the same stone. The builder says they are functioning properly, but we aren’t sure. The scuppers tend to leak behind and in front of the feature wall and we don’t know if this is normal. Does anybody have any guidance on this? Thank you.

F,

I assume you are talking about the water wrapping around the spillover and running down the wall.

There should be a drip grove across the bottom of the spillover. About a 1/4" wide and a 1/4" deep and about 1/4" from the front lip.

The grove helps interrupt the surface tension. But your pool builder is pretty close to being right.

I almost never use mine any more. I wish I could have seen them in action before I spend the money on them. :(

Thanks,

Jim R,
