Hi All - getting close to finishing prep on the new pool.
I have read conflicting suggestions on whether to put a layer of stone dust under the pavers that will support the uprights.
I have 16 x 8 x 4 concrete pavers and I live in MA - so will have freeze / thaw conditions.
Is putting 2” of stone dust under the pavers at this point helpful or just “extra work”?
My soil is fairly typical fill, not too sandy and minimal clay with plenty of typical rocks / pebbles. I have encountered more clay as I dished out the middle 16”, but nothing there that looks like I could make pottery with.

That is all extra. I had clay and my pavers never moved. I also freeze solid every year.
