We just had a deck built. It it too tall for my pool steps. It is 58 1/2 inches tall. My steps are 41 inches tall. That's a 17 inch step. I can't do that. Any suggestions? I can't find a 50 inch pool step? Help. We had the deck built to make it easier to get in and out. My kid and had 2 fake knees, Amy suggestions are welcome.

Could you make a custom step that is attached to the deck, kinda like a ledge halfway down to the height of top pool step, with the frame bolted to the deck, and set the pool steps out from the wall enough, perhaps with some custom standoffs to keep them the right distance from the pool wall?
Or maybe cut back into the deck, and frame in a step down?
