Stenner Pump Installation Point Thoughts and Opinions Wanted

So I'm planning on installing a 15 qal stenner pump for Cl injection. I could use a few thoughts on injection point options.

Some thoughts -

1. Cut out tab chlorinator, replace w/T there. I've never done PVC work, but how hard could it be? :)
2. Install at existing T (downstream of chlorinator on vertical pipe) that is the take-off for the cleaning pump.
3. Tap a connection in the horizontal line after the chlorinator
4. Other?

What do some of you smart people think?

I have not installed one, so hard for me to give personal advice. But from what I had read, you want to install it after the filter on the waters way back to teh pool. I have heard some people have taken the puck feeder out and added the T there.

As far as PVC work, pretty easy stuff all things considered. Just make sure you get a good glue joint all around (ie dont skimp on the glue) to make sure that you dont have a leak.

No pool plumber here, but I'd have some questions about your setup for someone who is.

I think the chlorine introduction should be downstream of everything, including the intake for your booster pump. Otherwise your tab feeder and your injector are pumping super-chlorinated water into your pump and the cleaner, which is not the greatest. Maybe that's not that big of a deal, but seems unnecessary and a possible problem down the road.

And the booster pump is plumbed off of one side of a three-way valve that can be manually closed. That doesn't seem prudent to me. Under certain conditions, that pump could be on with that pipe dry. No bueno.

If it were my pool, I'd want to play it safe and plumb that booster intake to a pipe that is before any chlorinators, and after the filter, and one that always has water in it. And of course the booster should be wired such that it cannot come on unless the main pump is running. They are not intended to run solo. I'd put it right after the heater, which is also after the filter. That's where mine was before I had it removed when I switched to a different type of vac.

Oh, and unless it's hiding in your picture, there is supposed to be a check valve between your tab feeder and your heater, to keep super-chlorinated water out of the heater. Some heater warranties are voided without that check valve in place. Seems your plumber made some interesting choices...
