Well we finally pulled the trigger on the pool contract last night after a long drawn out process of obtaining quotes. Of the five quotes we got only two of them were responsive and wanted our business. One of the five hasn’t even called back after two weeks even after coming over and taking measurements.

Thanks to CactusGirly for the recommendation. Gary said he would start the week of July 8th.
Great news! He has been so great to work with and you can tell him your recommendation was from Karen and Shawn in Glendale. We just jumped in our pool today!

Sorry had to take a few pics of the renderings instead of getting the files from PB but it gives a general idea. We are next on the list to dig so crossing our fingers it is this week.

Beautiful! Looks similar to ours, but I like your higher back wall and planters. Nice touch! We love our travertine, it turned out so pretty. Everyone who sees it comments on it.

Re: Starting the process in North Phoenix

Wow! Hard dig and looks like they weren't a foot down before they broke out the hammer. Bummer. Hope you had a contingency for that. We did since we put in a diving pool and due to our location, but luckily we didn't. We put in RV gate so they could bring in a full size excavator which is what saved us. Hopefully it's just a caliche layer, keep fingers crossed.

Re: Starting the process in North Phoenix

What's hard about it? Did they hit rock or just hard caliche soil? I know that some parts of Scottsdale and Paradise Valley could be rock (close to the mountains) but I didn't know that you would run into hard digs in other areas of the valley.

Our dirt was soft and pure. They commented on how they wish they knew someone that needed dirt because of how clean it was.

Hoping the rest of the dig goes well for you!

Everything has been progressing very well. Plumbing and electric are completed up to the point of inspection. Which is scheduled for tomorrow AM. Hopefully we will have gunite done by week end.
