Starting over...order to add chems?

I recently drained our seasonal 3900 gallon seasonal pool and am starting over. We got suckered into using Baquacil from the pool store initially and I'm over it. Ready to use chlorine. Been researching all summer long and slowly obtaining liquid chlorine to finally make the switch.

I've just gotten it filled back up with fresh water today. I've read probably all the articles (some saved, screen-shots etc.) but I still have a question or two.

I know the CYA is important due to its relationship with chlorine...do I need to put the CYA in first, let it dissolve (in the sock) and get to the appropriate levels first BEFORE adding any chlorine?

Same with pH...do I also need to ensure pH is at the appropriate level before adding chlorine? Or do I start off trying to get CYA, pH and chlorine all added at once (not like together at the exact same time...but like in the same day).

Thanks!

I bet it was still a bazillion dollars, even for 3900 gallons. That stuff is SPENDY.

Get 30 ppms worth of granuals hanging in a sock or such in front of a return, but carrot on a stick like so it doesn't touch the wall. Some time later it will squish out easily, just be careful not to dump any out the hole. Normally we need a baseline but with fresh fill we know it's 0 if you havent added any on purpose or by accident with pucks/ shock.

Dose liquid chlorine like you have 30 CYA

Let it mix for 20 mins and test the Ph

PoolMath is your best friend with all the answers of how much to add.
