Stamped concrete with finger prints.

Hello everyone,

I recently had my pool deck completed. Upon completion I, like everyone else I am sure inspected the craftsmanship of the concrete. After all I did pay ALOT of money for this concrete.

While inspecting the concrete I found atleast 25 finger prints in the concrete. See attached photos.
Considering the amount of money paid I am very upset. I obviously brought it to the attention of the pool builder and they said they will inspect them later this week.

What is a reasonable solution, obviously they arent going to rip out the concrete and replace. They can’t fix them. I see only one solution and that would be some type of refund, but how much? What is reasonable?

There are approximately 25-30 finger prints throughout the concrete.

I paid 10 a foot, and got approximately 1500 sq.ft of concrete. This was not cheap.

They could fix them with a grinder IF they use time and care. A soft feathering out would do the trick I would think. You could have them do it in an out of sight place so you can see what they will be doing and how it will look.

Contact them asap about the problem. The longer that concrete sits the harder it gets and the more difficult it will be to fix the problem. If the concrete is still a bit green they should be able to rub them out without issue.

We recently had a cool deck (spray deck) done and there were a couple of places that were not done right. They came back in and ground down a ton of places and re-did them. We can see every place that they re-did. They are not obvious to someone coming over but we can see them. Knowing what I know now I would have left it. I think it is very difficult to blend anything like that.
