I'm still in the process of getting quotes from builders to build a pool, but playing with the idea of doing stamped concrete. I've already had two builders tell me it's worth it to just by-pass doing stamped concrete and pay the extra money for pavers instead. I may end up having to just stick with normal concrete as the price jump to pavers will be insane for the amount of sq ft i'm wanting to do. Just curious to hear thoughts from people that have stamped concrete. I'm worried about it becoming a liability with friends and children because of being really slippery when wet???

I went with flagstone for the paver look with the price of the stamped concrete. 8 years in and the flagstone is getting weathered, but I like the unique fingerprint designs that it made, And the tiles are still 2.5 inches thick and not going anywhere.

Going with pavers is one of a few do-overs I’d like to have. I thought I’d save a few bucks by going with concrete, but pavers give you a lot more flexibility in the long run with your pool deck footprint. It’s also much easier to access plumbing for repairs, etc.
