I have a PVC membrane liner on a salt system. When I recently added more salt to the shallow end of the pool, it stained the bottom of the liner. I don't know if this is because the alkalinity was a little low at the time or there was dirt there before the salt was dumped in or what. If anyone knows why this happens and has advice to clean it so that the stain it removed, I would greatly appreciate that, assistance.

What brand was the salt?
Salt can contain trace iron. See if vitamin C tablets in a sock set on the stain removes it.

Diamond Crystal. I have used it before without a problem, but I do understand that some bags may have it and some may not. The stain is much larger than a sock. It's basically the entire area the salt was on the bottom of the pool.

The sock is just to test it. If it works, you may be able to just move it around and eliminate the stain.
