Stain vs Paint over new cement overlay (CementAll)

Hello,
I am in the process of applying new cement overlay (Rapid Set CementAll) over the existing deck that is in poor shape. After that is done, should I do a pool deck stain or should I go with pool deck paint in order to even out the color and protect the work? Can I switch later if I change my mind, like paint over stain or stain over paint?

For stain, I have this available locally "Dyco Pool Deck Low Sheen Waterborne Acrylic Exterior Stain"
For paint, I might order Mapei "Mapecoat Deck T" (a water-based, slip-resistant coating) but it takes 3 weeks to get. Or I can go with Dyco

So far I've pressure washed the old deck for hours, grooved all the crack with diamond wheel, placed backer rod in expansion joints and jacked up the worst sections of the deck. I've also experimented with CementAll and have determined that my concrete finishing skill is grossly inadequate for the job. Then I've hired a pro to apply CementAll and the pro should be done soon.

I've read so many different opinions on this forum and elsewhere about stain vs paint that my head is spinning. I'm in the Pacific north west (Around Seattle) and we get ice in the winter and 100+F in the summer. I also have 15 big (60ft+) Fir trees around the pool that shed like crazy with a lot of sap drips all over the place. Also it's an SWG pool. Just hoping that someone might have advice based on my particular circumstances.

Thanks

Paint should last a couple years at least, stain much longer.

Thank you. I just got a few gallons of stain from HD (Dyco brand).
what color are you going with? I have been toying with staining my patio concrete since it was poured in 2019 but I haven't pulled the trigger.
