Stacked Stone vs Tile

Hi all,
I am in the process of picking my PB. I was going into this with the idea of having stacked stone on my raised 2 ft pool wall and still having a tile at the water line. I was recently told by a reputable pool company to absolutely NOT use stacked stone. I was told they chip and break off and disintegrate in a very short amount of time. Has anyone else had issues like this? Thank you!

Welcome to the forum!
The stacked stone should not be in an area that is constantly wet. Or splashed on if possible.
From your picture, it shows sheer descents. Many members have shown pools with that design. If your water is hard, you will get calcium buildup if the water splashes on the stacked stone. Also, efflorescence can be an issue if your raised wall has dirt behind it and is wet.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
