Stabilizing ph level

I'm very happy with the chem balance of my pool except for the ph level. I usually test once a week and it is usually 8.0 unless it has rained. Other than muriatic acid I rarely have to add chems during the season. I read a post indicating that lowering ta to 60 would help. Would that help to maintain a 7.5 target and reduce need for ma? Will it cause issues with my other chem levels?

Rising PH is one of the side effects of a SWG. Adding MA once a week isn't bad for a SWG pool. Target a PH of 7.6 - 7.8 and let your TA drift down and see how it goes.

Test the TA of your fill water. You may find, like me that every time you top off your pool your are raising the TA slightly. Simply keep your pH at 7.8 or slightly less and don't worry about your TA.
