Sta-Rite SR400NA won't keep temp

Yet another "I should have just repaired it myself".

I explained the symptoms to the tech - long time to heat, acrid smell, smell of gas.
He took the cover off and found that a gas junction after the regulator (where they had replaced a part) was only hand tight, and bubbled gas when he sprayed it.
A simple mistake that thankfully was not the cause of a bigger problem.

Thanks so much for the follow up. Too often we never hear back and it's always very helpful for future OP with issues. Also, another stark reminder to always check the simple stuff first.

Good luck!
