would be if I schedule the spillover mode to come on 4 times a day for 15 min or twice a day for 30 mins....

Really does not matter.

The whole purpose of running the spillover is to dump the spa water into the pool and get water at the chlorination level of the pool back in the spa.

Twice a day in early morning and mid-afternoon is sufficient. If doing it four times a day makes you happier then that is fine.

How long depend on the size of your spa and flow rate of your pump. If your pump is running 50 GPM to a 500 gallon spa then 10-15 minutes is sufficient. 30 minutes is more then enough.

do I schedule this on top of the "normal running schedule" or do I need to account for spillover mode in the normal schedule? Thanks!

The water is pulled from your pool and ends up back in your pool by way of the spillover. The normal pool circulation just takes a detour through the spa and spillover instead of out the returns. Nothing special to account for.

Yeah i 100% understand how it works - but to program the spillover mode to come on automatically vs me having to manually turn it on daily ... do i set a schedule for the spillover mode separate from the "daily schedule" or do i need to build the daily schedule to include the spillover mode?

I don't have a schedule setup yet. When I say new pool I mean it was just filled a week and a half ago lol - but you answered my question - the POOL mode would be my normal schedule so when i setup the spillover mode it will override the POOL mode aka it would be a separate schedule

POOL mode is your default schedule when the pump is on. SPA mode or SPILLOVER mode overrides POOL mode for some period of time and then it goes back to POOL mode.
