Spill Pump replacement

Hello everyone,

Today my spill pump stopped working. It is a 1/2hp Sta-Rite P2RA5C-179.
The pump supplies the spa spillover and 2 fountains next to my spa.

I am wondering if I should replace with with an equivalent 1/2HP, or would it make sense to upgrade it to a 1HP (1spd or 2spd) motor?

What about the 1/2HP is not satisfactory that you think you need more HP?

Nothing unsatisfactory, but I am wondering if I could improve the efficiency? If not, I will definitely stay with a 1/2 HP pump.

A 1 HP motor will use more electricity then the 1/2 HP motor so if is moving the water the way you need you should stay with the 1/2 HP motor.
