Spa waterfall trickling and heating up slow?

Hi there - first winter with a pool and a spillover spa. I recently got a new pool heater put in and the team told me it would heat up my spa in about an hour. However my spillover has turned into a trickle and I think that is part of the reason it is not heating up fast.

Any troubleshooting I can check somewhere? Could there be clogs somewhere I’m not seeing?

Sara,

When in the Pool mode, if your spa spillover is just a trickle, then most likely your filter is dirty..

When in the Spa mode, the spillover should be zero..

You are my hero! I thought the person who checks my pool weekly cleaned the cartridge filters… apparently not. They were disgusting! Appreciate the assist and back to running just fine!

Sara,

The 'guy' that checks your pool weekly does next to nothing, as you have a Saltwater pool.

I suggest that you start taking care of the pool yourself. It will save you money and be twice as clear.
