Spa spillway tile

Hi! We had our pool completed last year in May and near the end they had us go buy a tile for the top of the spillway since they said if they ordered one it would be a 3-week delay. We went to a flooring company that they suggested and found a large tile that they were able to cut.

My question is how thick usually are the tiles used for the spillway area? Ours seems thinner than pictures I've seen. Is it normal for them to use floor tiles? Thanks!

It is not normal to use floor tiles in a pool.
