Spa Leak at Suction Line question

My above ground spa is leaking badly. It's loosing over 300 gallons/day. It's attached to the pools plumbing and I've isolated it so I'm pretty sure it's leaking again. It's been repaired twice in the past 12 years with pool putty but his time I have more time so I want try a more permanent fix.
My plan is to grind all the old putty off around the 2"PVC then pack some Rapid Set Water Stop concrete into the cracks. After that I plan to glue a PVC extender into the 2" pipe (after cleaning the putty off the inside of the existing pipe) then apply more Water Stop around the extension. I've used Water stop before and and it works great on concrete but I'll test it to see how well it adheres to roughened PVC. After that I may coated it all with fresh pool putty because I I have been impressed at how the Atlas Pool putty adhere to concrete and PVC. I don't expect it to last forever but hopefully it will stop the leak and hold for more than 5 years. While in there I'm changing the light stopper as well.
This is my first post so my question to the members is: Can anyone see a huge problem with my solution and/or is this fix going to cause a bigger problem down the road? Thanks.

Welcome to TFP.

This in the spa floor?

Why not extend the PVC first, pack around the pipe, then cut the pipe extension flush?

@AQUA~HOLICS @1poolman1 ideas?

Thanks AJW. The suction line is low on the spa wall. Because of the intake cover I'll only be able to extend the intake line about 1". I'm hoping that that will give the new concrete enough bite to get a seal on the outside of the extension. I'll test fit the extension with the cover on before I cut it to length to make sure that I have as much sticking out as possible
