Spa jet nozzles

I have these on the jets in my spa, I'm wondering if I can upgrade to be able to to change the direction of the jet a little. The larger ring threads into the PVC which I'm assuming is the end of a standard Venturi tee. These seem like builder quality el cheapos and moving the "eyeball" part essentially does nothing. Any recommendations?

Those are actually eyeballs and not the spa jet nozzles. Jet nozzles are deep within the spa wall and most look like this:

But you can change the eyeballs to get some directionality. They make 1/2" & 3/4" eyeballs may help a little bit. They will narrow the jet flow a bit as well.

OK eyeballs then. I did pull the nozzle you pictured out of one jet because it had a rock stuck in it. I see some of these eyeballs that have a 1/2 and 3/4 opening but concerned will they weaken the end result and do they effectively change the flow direction. Also, I see "1-1/2 Inch MIP Thread", not sure because the threaded portion of mine appears to measure 1 3/4. The ones I have you can adjust the eye all you want and there appears be no change of direction of the water flow.

The ID of 1 1/2" MIP Female thread is around 1 3/4".

As for weaking the jet, that is possible. There are a lot dynamics going on with spa jets. Reducing orifices will increase the exit velocity but also tends to decrease flow rate a bit as well due to higher head loss. The strength of a jet is proportional to the product of velocity and flow rate. However, your perception of that change could be better or worse. It is not always a straight forward assessment.
