Spa Heater Will Not Turn On

I have an above ground spa. A year ago I replaced the Control Unit with a Gecko Controller, Model # B-MC-MP-P12-P22. The unit worked at first, and then the heater stopped turning on when it called for heat. The lights on the remote controller constantly flash orange on the two pumps and light switches and the heat light. I thought it was a faulty flow switch, and replaced it, but the heat still did not come on when the controller called for it. The pumps and Temp setting buttons all work, but no heat. I've disconnected and reconnected the flow switch wires that go to the circuit board. Any suggestions anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about the control system that you have but I think they all pretty much work the same way. Generally, the only things that cause these systems to disable the heater is a sensor reading telling them there's no flow going through the system or an overheat condition has occured. Possibly causes pf that are either a faulty temp sensor allowing the tub to overheat or a faulty high temp cutoff sensor thinking the water is overheated wnen it's actually not. On my tub, these fault conditions will clear/reset if you just cut off the power to the tub for a brief period of time. If yours works the same way and you got a shutdown due to a faulty pressure switch, you might only need to cut power to the tub (i.e. flip the breaker(s) to reset the system. If that's not the issue then you've perhaps got another problem that's causing your system to prevent power from going to the heater. Another possibility is that the system is actually trying to send power to the heater but (A) the heater doesn't work or (B) the relay that directs power to the heater doesn't work and needs to be replaced.

Have you got a manual for that control Unit? It should tell you what the various flashing lights mean and have a troubleshooting section. That would help a lot.
