Solar on or off when slamming?

Performing a slam today and wad wondering if high levels of chlorine will harm my solar panels? Should I leave on or turn off?

I would leave the solar on, you want to achieve complete sanitation of all elements in your system. Elevated chlorine levels will not affect your panels. What is your CYA at?

60 on cya. Normally keep at 80

With a CYA of 60ppm your SLAM level FC will be 24ppm. The solar should be left on but make sure that the system is flushed regularly throughout the SLAM. If your at or above your set temp your system will be idle so you’ll have to flush it manually.
