I keep reading it's best to take off the cover every few days to let the pool breath and burn off CC's.
Was wondering if one of these options would work.
1) cut the cover 6-12 inches from the sides of the pool and leave on all week
2) we only swim on the weekends, would 2 straight days of the cover off be enough

I leave our cover on most of the time, its a pain without a reel. never had a problem with CC , never over 0.2 -0.4 at the most. Sure saves with FC and evaporation loss with it on. I usually remove once a week or so, due to PH slowly dropping from 7.6 to 7.2, not enough aeration from return being covered and usually no swimming/ splashing except for week ends

I have a reel which makes solar cover installation and removal a one person task. With borates in the pool pH is stable. During our recent drought, I have not need to add any water to the pool. It seems to keep the pool about 4 degrees hotter on average.
