I believe that sand is getting into my pool. I can pick it up and it feels gritty between my fingers. My dolphin is also collecting it as it cleans the pool. I have seen the sock test mentioned. Is this the appropriate way to determine if it is indeed sand and not dirt? If how how do I do the test? If not, what else do I need to know? Thanks so much for the advice!

Attach a sock to your return to see if it's catching sand from your filter.
