1. Air leak in pump -> low or 0 chlorine going into pool
2. New VS pump installed , now there is pink slime due to low chlorination.
3. Added Pink Treat (didn’t know about the bromine). Added lots of shock and liquid chlorine and still got less than 1ppm
4. Added another Pink Treat 3 weeks later. Added more chlorine and shock. TA going up, Cya 50 per test strips.
Just got Taylor 2006 kit and these are my results
Fc .4 ppm
Cc .4 ppm
Ta 160ppm
Cya>100
Ph 7.0
Ch 340ppm
My pool is crystal clear.
Do I need to SLAM?

In addition to the Bromine, your CYA is very high.

The best course of action is 100% water exchange to eliminate the Bromine and lower the CYA. You should not use sodium bromide in a chlorine pool. Bromine reduces to bromide, which then reacts with any oxidizer in the water (specifically chlorine). And the cycle repeats. That is why we need all of the water replaced, even a couple ppm of bromide can cause massive UV losses. Bromide isn't going anywhere on its own, it has to be physically removed.

See no-drain water exchange here:
