Curious of those that have replaced liners, we are to get new one this week, if it stops raining. We are paying for trucked pool water. I asked if it would be balanced and I didn't get a straight answer which tells me they are pulling it from the nearest fire hydrant and bringing to house. So talk to me about balancing the water? Our pool is kidney, 20k gal, sta rite filter, inline puck chlorinator. Of we are also having them cap off the 3 infloor jets of the Jany system as it hasn't worked right for years and then some!

The trucked water can come from different sources, and the company supplying the water should be able to give you an answer. When we had our pool filled, they drew water from the local water company, but they got it right at the filter plant. The water was pretty well balanced, but chlorine was low <.5 ppm and CYA was non existent of course. At the time I had an inline tab feeder, so I put 5 tabs in the feeder and placed the pump in service as soon as the water level allowed. I also added about 3/4 of a gallon of 10% bleach for each tanker as the water was going into the pool. By the time the pool was filled and the pump placed in service, I had a FC level of 12.5, but it took a long time to get the CYA up to a reasonable level. If I do this again (and I hope I don't need to) I would handle the chlorine/bleach just as I had, but I would buy dry stabilizer and use the sock in the skimmer trick.

Steps aren't perfect but they're much better looking!

That was earlier. The pool is FINALLY full! I overfilled a bit so that the first thing I could do was backwash... I had forgotten to do it before draining. Filter started up fine and I think we're all done now :)
Just need to balance the water, but I'm waiting on my refills from TFkits. I have chlorine and PH/CYA, but everything else was expired, I usually don't need to test the rest of it often at all but want to for the fresh fill.

I am not at all sure, but I would say they look very similar to yours, and the fact that there is no rust with all that water makes me think so as well!
Okay, it is nice to see someone else had all that algae, LOL. It was horrifying! I had just been watching youtube videos and people pulled liners out and it didn't look near as bad under there...

That's interesting about the liner fade, I wasn't aware! I didn't really mind the white, actually, it was just annoying when my iron staining got out of control, and of course any spec of dirt... but when the water had the iron in suspension and it was clean, it was very very blue water.

Oh, yeah, you guys are certainly right. It looks so much better. It kind of sucked having a pool that was so...ugly. LOL. The liner had stains all over that I gave up on, the coping was all faded, and the steps are dirty.. Just painting the coping already made a big difference, and now the liner. We are hoping to scrub up the steps as the final step, but refinishing them wasn't in the budget - did you do it yourself as well @milesvdustin ? How was the process?

The steps were a lot of work and took me several days. Hanging the new liner took my wife and I about 20 minutes then I was vacuuming it. I also did a wet install, getting in that icy cold water for drains and fittings sucked but all worth it! My total cost for the step Epoxy kit and new liner and accessories (all new return rings, drain kit and skimmer ring) was approx $1500. Labor free of course!

That's huge savings! I was too scared to attempt DIY on this...mainly because I didn't trust my ability to measure. I wonder if I can get the company I used to give me the measurements, so I (hopefully 10-15 years) I can do it myself next time. haha! You certainly saved a bunch!

I was surprised when they installed the liner; it was done so quickly! Definitely a lot more in the prep work.

I believe from what I've read here, the size is printed on the back of the liner or a label on the back somewhere? If you use the same brand liner next time they should have a record of it.

My liner came with a drawing with all the measurements. I also kept that obviously.

My liner came with a sheet of paper from GLI that had their CAD drawing on it as well as a serial number sticker.
