Until I get the time to trench out for adding power (its for a shed and future hot tub, and dedicated power for pool)

In the mean time I have been stuck with an extension cord. And I am getting tired of unplugging and plugging back in. I have a few left over smart plugs I thought about using.

Has anyone done this? Any issues with over loading the plug?

Thanks

You need to look at the specifications for the smart plug and see that it is rated for the motor HP or greater that you have. You cannot just look at the watts rating for the plug. A motor can pull more power during startup that can overload a plug so there are separate motor ratings.
