slamming process , am I doing this right?

Help please.
After a few days of severe thunderstorms, my pool looked like a swamp. I decided to slam.
Lowered PH to 7.3
CYA 50
FC .5

I then raised the FC to 22 yesterday afternoon.
This morning FC was 15

added Bleach and and tested after half hour. FC went up to 23 .

question: Do I test every hour and if it goes down I add more bleach to keep it at shock level? If so, for how long?
Thank you in advance for your help.
BTW I did read the slamming process. I just need some guidance.

If you can test and adjust FC every hour, it would be GREAT. It would also end up taking a whole lot LESS time to complete the SLAM.
Over time, you will notice that the chlorine isn't dropping as fast as it was at the beginning, and you will be able to back off of the testing a bit.

Stay on it. Continue testing and adding. You can use pool if you can clearly see the bottom of the deepest part of your pool. Rain really does not affect a 22k gallon pool much if at all. It's clean clear water.

It won't dilute the chlorine. It will drop faster from fighting algae.
