SLAMing test question

Test with a 10 ML sample and each drop is 0.5. 100 drops would be 50 ppm. 40 drops would be 20 ppm.

Diluting a sample will greatly reduce its accuracy and usefulness.

I went to bed with 23.6 ppm FC and woke up with 7.8

Makes no sense, the pool is spotless to be honest. I'll keep SLAMing until I lose less than 1 ppm and CC is < 0.5

But someone please reassure me this sounds normal.

pH 7.6
CyA 60

Ok, man. I'm just now realizing I needed to adjust the pH to like 7.2

I found muriatic acid at 31.45% hydrogen chloride but unsure what qty to put in.. the poolmath doesn't seem to have that option available.

Confirm that your FC is below 10 when you checked the pH. pH test is invalid when FC i above to and should be ignored.

Once you begin the SLAM Process just check FC and CC and occasionally CYA. Ignore pH, TA and CH.

You can do the FAS/DPD test with different sample sizes and hence the multiplier is different resulting in a different precision:
5 ml sample... 1 drop=1 ppm
10 ml sample... 1 drop=.5 ppm
25 ml sample... 1 drop=.2 ppm

If you wanting to dilute with tap water it will effect the out come of the test.

Yeah, I realized how stupid that was after I asked the question. I'd normally tested with 25ml but have moved to 10ml for SLAM.
