This should be fun.
Stuff happened and I didn't have the time to work on the pool for quite some time. No pump running. Last chemicals and cleaning was almost 2 weeks ago. Considering the time left of swim season I debated on just closing however I have almost 20g of chlorine left sooooo 🤔 I cleaned the top, let's see how long it takes to get TFP clear. It's a nice green. Surprised it isn't worse. Going to do a cya and FC test and run it from there.

Surprised that there wasn't much FC loss over night and so far today. Been out so haven't been able to test it, clean regularly. 20230815_165716.jpgStill cloudy and spots of green, just added some LC, will wait a little and brush it manually. I may very well run out of LC before this experiment is over lol

Just think how bad it would have been if it was allowed to fester until next year. Sure the exponential growth would quiet down when it gets cold, but it would go right to the last second, and start right back up in the early spring.

Right! Just manually brushed, looking better but pics doesn't really show. Weather hasn't been ideal, lots of rain, but low UV, plus!20230815_175626.jpg

Just an update. Things haven't been going to plan, I haven't been able to tend to the pool so I'm closing it for the season. Overnights is dropping to undesirable water temps, I have no heating source. Oh well, it was a good season for what it was, opened super late (mid June when it's normally mid May) and closing super early ( last week of Sept). Weather just hasn't been the same this summer.

+1. I was open looooooooong before I wanted to hop in this year. Lol. We had a warm June/July but so far August has been a bust with nights around 60 most days.

The heater has been on all summer. Without it, I think we would have closed the pool already.
It's been raining since the end of June like every other day. I keep the heat at 90 and go in the pool, even if it's raining.
Before we had the heater working it was 2nd week in June to 1st week in September.
