I've successfully cleaned a green swamp into crystal clear water (bought the house, pool wasn't closed properly). Previous owner stopped by and told us this is the clearest he has seen the water in many many years so I'm winning this battle.

My final conundrum.... the water is perfectly clear, to me at least but I'm left with multile dark spots which I assume are algae - any suggestions to clean up?

Thanks all,

If you've passed all 3 SLAM criteria, then perhaps those dark spots are residual stains. If so, it may take some time for the chlorine (and brushing) to help them fade away. You do however have plaster, so there's a thought it could be scale. Are those spots smooth or rough? Do they change in shade or appears when you work on them? Ever tried hold a tablet directly to the area? Lastly, post a full set of results and that may help us as well to determine if it's related to the past history of algae, or if it may be calcium related. We'll try to give you some advice to work on.

Nice pool!

Here's a tip, if you copy the img code and paste it in your post then the pics will show up in your thread like this and people won't have to click out of the forum to see your pics.
