Some before information then my questions. Sorry this is so long!
Opened the pool this year and everything was going great until my pump stopped working and had to wait several days for a replacement. I did keep liquid chlorine in and mixed it as best I could with brushing and running robot to keep water somewhat circulating. I also put a few pucks in the floating chlorinator to help add chlorine. Note: I did remove the floating chlorinator when I added the liquid chlorine so I would not have an unwelcome chemical reaction.
But then, I noticed a small patch of algae even though pool was clear. I started the SLAM process. Got my Ph to 7.2, the CYA was 30 (actually not quite 30 because I could still see black dot at 30 but no longer at the top of the tube but rounded up to 30 for the SLAM process) I used liquid chlorine 10% to reach my level of 12 keeping it there every couple of hours. I lost 2.5 chlorine overnight so I continued keeping it to 12 every two hours or so the next day until early afternoon. THEN, an emergency came up and I had to leave the SLAM process. I was just now (12:30pm EST) able to test my pool since yesterday afternoon my results are as follows:
FC is 7
CC is less than 0.5 (barely has a tinge of pink if any when adding the 5 drops of reagent)
Ph 7.6
ALK 80
CH 90
CYA 30 (less than 30 because black dot doesn’t disappear until very top of tube)
My pool is in sunlight from approximately 9am until 6-7pm.
Ok my questions:
I am sure I should restart the SLAM process since I was not able to meet and verify my 3 criteria since the process was stopped prematurely. I have limited liquid chlorine and cannot get any for a day or two. I do have some HTH shock advanced which is 56.44 cal-hypo.

- Since my CH is low could I use the cal-hypo to get my chlorine level up to 12 and keep using it until I can get liquid chlorine? Would it be okay to mix into the water since I have been using liquid chlorine previously? Haven’t added LQ since yesterday.
- The directions on the cal-hypo say Ph should be between 7.2-7.8? Should I still lower my Ph first?
- Also, it says to add the cal-hypo in the evening…can I add it during the day?
