Skunk smell

Our saltwater pool just developed a "skunk" smell to the water.
we had the water checked at Leslie's and it was slightly low on acid and the phosphates were high.
We have had the pool guy look at it twice he has drawn a blank.
The only difference has been that we replaced the pump about two weeks ago. The smell started after that.
i wouldn't think the solvents could cause that much difference.
any ideas?

Smells like this are often times indicative of something amiss in the water chemically. This could explain an almost sulfuric type odor. Can you post a full set of water results of your own? I see you're fairly new to us. We highly recommend home testing with either a TF-100 (link below) or Taylor K-2006 test kit. The free store testing often times pulls you in for worthless products and bad advice. A full set of accurate results would be our first starting point.

From there, I have to ask if you have added ANY pool store products to your water lately? Let us know how you chlorinate and any other factors that may apply. We'll put it all together and see if we can get you some advice to get that "Pepe Le Pew" odor to go away. Last, please update your signature with all of your pool and equipment info. It will help us later.
