My pool skimmer has 2 intake holes. One has good suction but the other has a strainer inside covering the opening that leads to the filter line. It has a small amount of sand on the strainer which decreases the intake flow from the skimmer to the filter. Any ideas how to remove the sand?

Can you take a photo please? Normally, a skimmer will only have one line that leads back to the pump for suction. It's usually the port that's facing away from the water. Second port is normally used for a second suction source like a main drain or equalizer line.
