Single Speed Pump to VS Pump replacement

Hi

This is my first post, long time lurker, great site with a wealth of information and helpful members, so thank you.

I have a Hayward Super Pump (single speed) that is going to be replaced with a Hayward VS. I don't know the specific model of the VS yet as my pool builder is replacing it due to a faulty single speed. My pool is about a year old (its a long story why I got a single speed pump in the first place but here we are). My question is about the electrical hook ups once the VS pump is installed. Currently I have a single speed pump, SWG (Pool Pilot Digital) and Heat Pump (Aquacal) all on an intermatic timer (all on/all off) based on my start/stop times. The pump is currently plugged into an outlet that is on that timer. Since a VS pump has its own timer, should that plug be changed to be on all the time or can the VS pump still function correctly on the panel timer? I have attached some pics for reference and I apologize if I have left out any key details. Much appreciated!

VS pumps are designed to receive constant power. All programming is performed on the pump panel (unless connected to automation). Use the timer to set start and stop times for SWG within the pump run schedule. Be vigilant about checking for correct time on the timer and that the trippers stay tight. With power outages, the pump will reset to real time.; the timer will not. Make sure you reset the timer dial when power is restored.

Talk to the PB/electrician about running power directly from the load center to the pump. See if they might be able to wire the existing outlet to a different breaker to give you an extra outlet at the pad.

So the pump I got is a Hayward super pump xe. It’s a variable speed with no timer. Speeds are programmed via a single button. Can do 100%, 80%, 70%, 50%….six speed options. So it runs on my mechanical timer. Pump, SWG, and heat pump are all on the timer.

I have a question regarding running the pump 24/7 as some do with a VS. I have tested the speeds and my SWG is fine down to 50%, flashes low flow @ 40%. Heat pump is good down to 70%, flashes low flow @ 50%. During the day I am currently running 4 hours @ 80%, then 8 hours @ 70%. If I decide to run it 24 hours, I wanted to drop it down to 50% for the remaining 12 hours. SWG is happy at that speed, heat pump is not but since heat pump is off (heat pump has power but mode is set OFF). I assume that doesn’t matter. I just want to confirm!
