Silencer blower issue

So this seems interesting, thought I'd see if anyone else experienced similar. I have a 1hp blower on my custom spa, several years old. The other day when I turned on the water pump, I noticed water coming out of the blower housing (obviously coming up the pipe and through the check valve to the blower). I shut it down, pulled off the blower unit to find the check valve partially held open by 2 collared bolts sitting in the top of it keeping it from fully closing. Blower motor is probably dead now from water exposure, so I removed it to examine what happened. Disassembled it, and those 2 bolts came from inside the blower where 4 bolts are supposed to be holding the motor to the internal housing (only 2 left in place and not fully tightened down). This ever happened to anyone else before? Makes me want to disassemble the next one and apply Loctite to those bolts. Unfortunate :(

Welcome to TFP.

I have not heard of that failure before.

Have you reported it to Air Products?
