Show me how you have your AGP backwash pvc and hose set up please?

We had the pool installed by a professional in 2019. In 2020 I busted the hose it came with so bought a Gorilla 2" hose b/c that's what seemed to be the most popular size? I don't actually remember why. But it was WAY to big for the piece of piping the installer had siliconed onto the backwash opening. I tried a million different plumbing parts to make it all work but I just cannot seem to comprehend the measurements. I have two pictures attached, blue circles are what I've tried to piece together and make work. The one with "A" on it was what I must have tried first, but it shot the hose right off. The second one, with "B", is what is there right now, so must have worked last year. That pvc pipe is about 6 inches long, then the hose is clamed three times on it to ensure it doesn't fly off with the pressure.

NOW the problem is, the piece (circled in red) that the installer attached, has a slight crack. Plus I moved the pump this year, so actually would like to use some sort of elbowing to have it move away from the steps.

My plan is to take OFF the piece circled in red and start fresh, but keep the 2 inch hose. While I'm not opposed to having everything be PVC, it would have to be removable b/c I'm not having a bunch of PVC in my yard all summer and also not burying anything.

How do you have yours set up? What do you find works best/longest for sealing? Silicone, tape, or that paint on stuff? I bought Rectorseal 5 Pipe Thread sealant yesterday, but haveven't opened it yet. Thanks for any tips!

That should be a 1.5 inch thread into the filter (B) and your hose you need to make sure it is 2 inch.. if it is you can use this to connect.. It is a 1.5 inch PVC and it is a little smaller than 2 inch, 1.9 inch to be exact and you will use you metal pipe band to connect it to the union.... The nice thing about using the union is you never have to disconnect the hose by unscrewing the metal pipe band, you just unscrew the union and your done :)

This is amazing and EXACTLY what I need (I think). I have the hardest time with plumbing pieces (as can be seen by my ridiculous conglomeration of parts). The only thing I DO know is that the Gorilla hose I bought last year in my Amazon history says it's 2 inches.

I may buy a few of these for other parts of the pool b/c each year I have the hardest time making sure the hose is on enough and the pipe band is tight enough to prevent leaks. And now the silicone is leaking at the return jet where the installer put in the piece that sticks out of the hole, so maybe I can make this work with some tape.

If I had half a brain, I would have figured ALL of this out prior to opening the pool, but nope I don't. Maybe I could re-plug the skimmer hole and return jet though for a day or so when they come in.

Thank you so much!
