We had the pool installed by a professional in 2019. In 2020 I busted the hose it came with so bought a Gorilla 2" hose b/c that's what seemed to be the most popular size? I don't actually remember why. But it was WAY to big for the piece of piping the installer had siliconed onto the backwash opening. I tried a million different plumbing parts to make it all work but I just cannot seem to comprehend the measurements. I have two pictures attached, blue circles are what I've tried to piece together and make work. The one with "A" on it was what I must have tried first, but it shot the hose right off. The second one, with "B", is what is there right now, so must have worked last year. That pvc pipe is about 6 inches long, then the hose is clamed three times on it to ensure it doesn't fly off with the pressure.
NOW the problem is, the piece (circled in red) that the installer attached, has a slight crack. Plus I moved the pump this year, so actually would like to use some sort of elbowing to have it move away from the steps.
My plan is to take OFF the piece circled in red and start fresh, but keep the 2 inch hose. While I'm not opposed to having everything be PVC, it would have to be removable b/c I'm not having a bunch of PVC in my yard all summer and also not burying anything.
How do you have yours set up? What do you find works best/longest for sealing? Silicone, tape, or that paint on stuff? I bought Rectorseal 5 Pipe Thread sealant yesterday, but haveven't opened it yet. Thanks for any tips!
