Should I use submersible pump

My pool pump is down after opening and not sure when it will be fixed (I’m renting). The pool was a swamp upon opening.

Been adding shock everyday (I know this isn’t TFP recommended. I have a very particular landlord. I figure I will deal with the calcium hardness later when the pool is up and running and do it the TFP way then, but for now, I don’t want to p*ss him off even more than he is) and mixing it around manually.

I’m seeing mosquitoes floating on the water and I’m scared it’ll become a breeding ground.

Should I put in a submersible pump to help circulate and mix the shock? How many HP should I buy?should I run all day long?

How much organic material is there? Don't want to plug up a submersible.
But, sure, and when you add chloring do it slowly into the roiling water from the submersible.

I’ve been scooping everyday. It’s gotten better, but the deep end is still green.

You'd be fine, put the pump in the shallow where there is no debris. NO PEOPLE IN THE POOL WITH SUMP IN THE POOL!

I do. Brand new, just received it today. Wasn’t sure if it was safe to put in? Aiper Scuba

Sure! Launch it. The more tools the better. Again, not sure the volume and size of the debris in the deep. It it isn't a huge load of leaves and larger debris, the robot can really help.

If you are scooping out lots of twigs, leave etc., get that out first. If just algae...good to go!

I can’t see the bottom of the deep end, but the leaves seem to be mostly on top. I have a brand new robo skimmer too.

Do people put skimmer socks in the robo basket? Maybe it’ll help catch the finer particles

No. Bad idea.

Skimmer socks, in skimmers are hard to clean. Use hairnets in your skimmer. Get a rock, bigger than the suction line to hold them down. Keeps junk out of your pump basket and filter.

Whats the arrangement for you taking care of the rental house pool? I've always wondered how that works. Does he pay you in discounted rent or was it part of the lease agreement?

Part of the lease agreement. I know some people get a discount, or the owner pays for the pool to be maintained professionally. Every agreement is different I’m sure.

You can certainly add some liquid chlorine and maybe a little less cal hypo? That’ll help you avoiding the higher water bill later when you have to replace the water from high calcium.
