Should I just drain and refill?? Ugh

I’m skeptical of leslie’s because they’re out for $$$. I read the SLAM and it sounds confusing but I like the detailed instructions. I’ll get one of those kits.

Very wise move! Just follow the simple instructions Allen and Kim provide for you. Ask them any question you may have. They are here because they like to help people in your situation and they know what they are talking about! I have observed from a distance as they get people from green to clean in the shortest and cheapest way possible. They've done so hundreds, (maybe thousands) of time! What is very critical is that you do exactly what the SLAM procedure says. You'll feel like you're dumping a LOT of bleach in and you are because you have a LOT of algae. If you don't get to the right levels and keep it there the SLAM process will just take longer and cost more money. But in the end this is far cheaper than the pool store method, which sometimes doesn't even work. And here's a huge incentive: once you're done you'll be well on the way to have the most gorgeous, lowest cost-pool possible forever!

Good luck and I hope this helps!

I am SO happy to hear you did not buy ANY of the stuff they tried to sell you. There is one thing you can get from them if they carry it.........liquid chlorine IF it is easy for you to get there once a day or so. You many need to using mostly bleach from Walmart or Target at 6% most of the time but if you can start with and supplement with the 11% the pool store sells it might come a little cheaper.

Aginn, I started here last year, totally confused by two different pool stores, and pretty lost. I was at my wits end and found this place and it saved my sanity (and a lot of $). I have learned a ton of stuff, and even completed a SLAM. Its not that bad, you just have to be patient. You can do it!
