Guys

why do we have different service factors for pool pump motors?

why don't pump manufacturers consider S.F equal to 1?

I mean i know true horse power comes from multiplying SF by HP.then WHAT IS THE NEED FOR HAVING A SERVICE FACTOR RATHER THAN 1?

Thanks

SF is Service Factor, not Safety Factor.

SF was eliminated in the US with the new energy regulations...

Thanks @ajw22

So for the pumps with no SERVICE FACTOR on them shall we assume it is considered 1 and THP is equal to HP of the motor?

I put the picture of the one i use as my port-vac
