Hey everyone

Trying to reattach my return line and the clamp doesn't hold the hose in place. I tighten it but it will still just slide right off. Looks like the installers put some epoxy in the hose to hold it last year. Is that what I should be doing as well? Someone told me to just put a second clamp on there but I want to be certain it holds. PXL_20230507_211520489.jpg

For now you can add a second clamp and then top that with duct tape. Make sure to go over the pool part and hose.

The next thing you need to do is get some hard piping on instead. MUCH safer and works better too!

Make sure to put a valve under the return and skimmer so you can close those lines off when you need to work on the equipment. You should also put unions on both side of all of the equipment for the same reason.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. If you think a second clamp and duct tape as back up will be fine for right now I will give it a go. Just seems I should not be able to slide it right off so easily.

I have been meaning to hard pipe the whole unit, I just got it last year. Looking into some videos now and the steps needs. Will definitely do it in the next few weeks. I just want to get the pool up and filtering this week.

It should NOT slide right off but as you can see the hose is slightly bigger than the pipe so..................I would do the PVC sooner rather than later to be on the safe side! I am not 100% sure the pressure of the water will not cause it to come off :(

Our last pool had the AG flex hoses, originally with the cheaper ones then I purchased the better ones that had rubberized ends. I tried to get them to above the ridge that's closer to the pool to make a secure fit. The one thing you don't want is to leave the house or sleepung and have the hose pop off and have the pump running for hours dry.

I never thought of hard plumbing our last pool even though all of my hoses had to be replaced at one time or another ... quite a few times my hose was acting like a fountain streaming up into the air!🤣

I agree with kimkats, hard plumb sooner than later, our new pool is hard plumbed and it makes pool life a little less stressful. But before you hard plumb anything think it through and make sure you account for disassembly and convenience.

Definitely hard pipe the plumbing! It’s so much better. Hoses are a joke. We used the wrong elbows but overall it’s not that difficult and makes set up maintenance and breakdown so much easier.
