Scumbug Turned Yellow?

I put a new scumbug in recently after a partial water swap and filter change, and it turned yellow. The only chemicals I've put in since the water swap (about 100 gallons on a 400ish gallon hot tub) have been dichlor and muriatic acid. Anybody ever hear of something like this?

I only swapped out some water to bring the temp down some. It's too hot for a hot tub in Texas in the summer

Maybe iron?

Are the filters also turning the same color?

No, filter is still nice and white. I meant to put that in the original. So it's either something specific to the material in the scum bug, or it's something that was on the surface?

I put another new scumbug in--just to see.

It also turned yellow...

I could see that potentially being a rust-ish color, but I don't see any rust anywhere in the tub, and the filter is still white.

Maybe it's just absorbing oils like it is designed to do?

I suppose there might have been a higher than normal oil content in the water I replaced........

Maybe they use color changing foam to make people think that it's working.
