I had 2 Pentair Sam light that needed replacement. One was fully dead and the other was stuck on red with a bulb also burned out. After doing some research I found the poltone lights and decided to give them a try as the other 2 I was looking at were higher than I was willing to spend right now.(J&J and Pentair 5g) I called them on Monday and Asked a couple questions then made the online order. Paid the extra 20 for the 3 day shipping. Both light shipped by Wed. and I got them on Fri. They came with everything needed to install besides tools and the instructions were pretty exact on what to do. I pulled both lights out and then started to work on them. The first one probably took close to an hour as I was taking my time and making sure all was correct. The second one probably took 20 minutes. I turned both lights on before putting them back in the pool to make sure they worked. They both came on the same color and changed in sync withe each other so I put them in the pool and was done. overall I would say these are good. The only thing I see that could be a bit different is the 4 lugs are slightly bigger than the led disk. This makes the led kinda just hang in there with not as much backing as it could have had. either a slightly bigger disk or a backing plate of some kind could fix this ( The disk is very light so it is probably not a problem anyways).
As far as operation goes, I can say they work great. I would say compaired to my Sam lights when they worked good these are way brighter. I have them hooked up to my intellicenter and no I cant control them using the light colors the app has but Just using the app to turn them on and off goes through all the color settings. once I found what I liked they seem to be holding that as memory. Its only been one day so I cant speak on how long they will last but I will post if something happens. Very happy so far

Did you have to do anything for 120V to 12V?

How are the lights holding up?
I had the 12vt. transformers are by the pool equ. When I talked to them on the phone they asked about it and I guess the 120vt sam lights have a transformer in the fixture. I guess you just clip those wires and connect them to the new ones. Mine was super easy to do. So far I am very happy with them. They come on the same color that We like every day for about 2 hrs and on nights where I want them on longer I just turn them on with intellicenter app. I think most people would be surprised at just how bright they are compaired to the old lights. Even when the old ones had new bulbs they were not near as bright
