I have been considering a change to a Salt Water Chlorine Generator for the upcoming season but have some concerns about the salt water accelerating the corrosion of the steel walls of my pool. Is this a legitimate concern?

No.

Consider that pool steel walls rust without SWGs. And pool water eventually has a salt level since you get salt added when adding chlorine.

Steel pool walls are not maintenance free.

Thanks for your response. I am aware that the walls will rust over time and require some maintenance. After 12 season I replacedmy liner at the start of last season and there was some minor rust. The liner installer did sand down and applied some rustoleum on these areas. Just concern that the rusting will accelerate with a higher concentration of salt.
