Pentair Intellichlor IC-40
My IntelliChlor ic40 is showing 3050 salt level but when I use the test kit I believe I am around 2900. IC40 recommends 3200-3400 ppm. I need to add some salt but which reading is more accurate?

Also the IC40 is saying salt level is OK and it is producing chlorine.

Test kit measures 200 per drop, so it has to be in multiples of 200. How did you get 2900?

Your test is accurate. The salt cell is not, but what it reports is important, because it will shutdown with what it thinks is too low.

Remeasure your salt level (increments of 200) and report that, then we decide what to do...

Retest, 14 drops came to 2800.

Ok, so cell is 3000, salt test is 2800. I'd add enough to get the middle of the range for your cell, and the reading on your cell, which is 3300, or 250 higher than current. Add the 250 and retest, you should ~3000 (2800+250). This puts you in the middle of the range, and gives you some room for backwashes, splashouts and removing water if needed. Now you know, 3000 or so on your test will be middle of the range for your cell to be happy.
