salt level in chlorine pool

Hi everyone,
I have been using only liquid chlorine since I remodeled my pool 5 years ago, salt is collecting on my solar pool cover, I am sure my salt level is super high, will that damage anything and should I drain the water if so do I need to drain the entire pool,

Test your salt level before taking any action. Best test is the K-1766 Taylor Salt Test

I doubt it is high enough to cause problems (>6000 ppm) but you might take a sample to a pool store to test it.
