new here, looking for advice. Have a 15yr old steel walled semi in ground pool and just noticed a vertical buttress rusted out leaving the wall only supported in that spot by the surrounding deck. obviously not safe, and the top rails and caps are rusted as well; looking at a ton of $ on parts (if I can even find them) to bandaid this thing along...so looking at options. cheap and easy summer fix is a soft sided pool and add a my skimmer to use my existing super pump/sand filter/heater. possible? otherwise a new resin AG pool in the same space (way more work and time to install).
I guess what I am really asking is how practical/durable would an Intex be with my existing plumbing, and in Missouri can it be left up in winter? I know the Splash brand AG soft sided is rated for winters, but also more $ than a hard-walled pool in the same size. Intex set up would be $1200 or so with what I have on hand vs. $6500 for splash at the dealer, or $3500 or so for a resin pool online. looking to stay around the 16x32 size since the cedar deck and retaining wall is surrounding the pool.
